NE PAS LAISSER TOMBER LA GRÈCE

Le dernier numéro d’Aspenia, la revue d’Aspen Italie, contient notamment une analyse géopolitique de la crise grecque par Ian O.Lesser, du German Marshall Fund, où il est responsable de la Méditerranée (Mediterranean Policy Program). L’article, intitulé « The Greek crisis and transatlantic geopolitics », souligne que la crise financière grecque risque de ne pas être résolue rapidement (« years of low growth are a very real prospect »), et que l’Europe pourrait évoluer vers un projet « à deux vitesses » dans lequel les pays du Sud seraient plus ou moins abandonnés à eux-mêmes. Or l’enjeu géopolitique de cette crise est trop important pour accepter ce scénario : « North-South relations may be just as important to European prosperity and security over the next decades as East-West relations have been since 1945 (…) An insecure and inward-looking Greece may be less inclined to consolidate the prevailing détente with Turkey in the Aegean – an issue critical to European and American interests”.
