« India likes to think of itself as an equal part of “Chindia” but, in fact, it is nowhere close to matching China on key metrics, such as economic and military might (or spending on education and healthcare provision)”, d’après le résumé d’une des table-rondes publié par le Wall Street Journal. Cependant l’Inde possède un atout de taille : son caractère démocratique : “India can do more to showcase the one thing it has that China doesn’t : A vibrant, if imperfect, democracy that will ultimately give Indians a right to determine their future in a way that a Chinese citizen can only imagine”.
