Institut Aspen France

Institut Aspen France, founded in 1983, is an independent, non-partisan, non-profit, international center for discussion and dialogue. It has been located in Lyon since 1994 under a partnership agreement with the local authorities of the Rhône-Alpes Region. Institut Aspen France is affiliated with The Aspen Institute, which was created in 1949 in Aspen, Colorado and whose head office is in Washington DC. Institut Aspen France is part of an international network, with other Aspen Institutes based in Berlin, Italy, Romania (since December 2006), Japan and India.

The goal of The Aspen Institute is twofold :

- Help leaders from the economic, political, academic, and non-profit sectors, trade unions and the media to better identify the challenges they must face in working together to seek solutions to contemporary problems;
- Facilitate, in an informal context, the meeting of leaders from different geographical, cultural and professional worlds.

These two goals are achieved through international conferences and seminars covering the main political, economic and societal issues of our times. Institut Aspen France also organizes meetings in the Rhône-Alpes Region to encourage an exchange of original ideas to the benefit of territorial development in the heart of Europe.

Since its founding, The Aspen Institute has left its mark, enriching the reflections of several generations of leaders around the world and exercising an indirect but constructive influence on the principal international debates.
